Ask us your own question
If something is still unclear, send it over. You will get a direct answer from the team, not a script, and there is no obligation attached to asking.
Send a messageHow our lessons run, how we assess your level, how translation and voice work is produced, and how scheduling, confidentiality and payment are agreed. If your question is not here, ask us directly and we will answer it.
None at all. Most people who come to us begin with no Hausa whatsoever. We start with sounds, greetings and the words you will use on your first day, and you will be speaking short phrases in your very first lesson.
Send us a message or book the 30-minute consultation. We talk through what you want to do in Hausa, assess your level if you already have some, and send you a suggested plan with a written quote. The consultation is subject to a fee, and there is no obligation to continue. Nothing is charged for any work before you approve that quote.
A phone, tablet or laptop with a camera and a stable internet connection. Lessons are taught live by video call, so there is no software to buy. Notes and recordings are shared with you electronically.
Every lesson is private and one-to-one with a native Hausa tutor. We do not run group webinars, because your own speaking time is what changes how quickly you progress.
Sessions are typically 45 to 60 minutes. Frequency is your choice: once a week suits many learners, twice a week moves noticeably faster, and an intensive programme is designed for people working to a deadline or a relocation. We recommend a rhythm in your plan, and you decide.
We start with a conversation rather than a test paper. From what you can already say and understand, we place you on a simple scale that runs from absolute beginner through elementary and intermediate to advanced, and we revisit it as you progress.
Yes. We teach learners of all ages, and we adapt the pace, the materials and the style of the lesson to the age of the learner. Families sometimes study in consecutive sessions, which works well.
Want the detail on levels, formats and curriculum? The Hausa tutoring page sets out how a course is built.
No. Translation, transcription, voice dubbing and localisation are all produced by native-speaker humans. Machine output reads like machine output, and in Hausa the tone, the proverbs and the forms of respect are precisely what it gets wrong.
Tell us the format you need back and we will confirm it before work starts. Documents, spreadsheets, presentations, subtitles, audio and video are all routine for us. If a conversion is needed we will say so in the quote rather than surprise you with it later.
Per project, based on volume, language direction, format, turnaround and how specialised the subject matter is. We ask to see the material, or a representative sample, so the figure reflects the real job rather than a rough guess. You receive it in writing before any work begins.
Yes. Work is handled by named team members under confidentiality, and we are happy to sign an NDA before you send anything. Medical, legal, academic, research and NGO material is routine for us.
See the full scope of each service on the services overview, from translation and transcription to dubbing and localisation.
Tutors are based in Kano, Nigeria, which is GMT+1, and we teach learners across the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Tell us the hours you can genuinely keep and we will find a slot that fits.
The fee, the currency and the payment method are all agreed in writing with your quote before anything is paid. Organisations can be invoiced directly, with purchase order and project references included if your finance team needs them. We never collect card details through this website.
Lesson times are booked in advance, and we would rather move a session than have you miss it. Let us know as early as you can and we will find another slot for you, including across time zones.
We confirm availability and turnaround in writing before accepting a deadline. When a timeline is tight or a specialist is needed, we will tell you honestly what is realistic rather than promise something we cannot deliver well.
Executive Hausa Tutors is led by Sa'adiya Abubakar, known to learners as Malama Sa'adiya, working with native-speaker colleagues. You will know who your tutor is before your first lesson.
